There are days when the only images in my mind are those of the soul. I would have never thought I would have made a religious painting. I find most modern art about religion to be stuck in symbolic ritual and a romantic vision of a perfect world. The red hand is found throughout Central America above the doorways of temples. If I was to pick a symbol for Christianity it would be a saw to represent the journey to build a better world.
