We have two kinds of vultures. Turkey Vultures and Black Vultures. The Black vultures live by the Delaware River. On a good day one can see fifty of them roosted in a tree. The Turkey Vulture is the real signal that spring is coming. They arrive in early March. They really keep the country side clean of dead animals. On this day I saw a line of ten vultures waiting their turn on a carcass of a deer along route 413.
